Miyuko Wahr

Miyuko Wahr was born in 1995 in Freiburg in Breisgau and had her first violin lesson at the age of three. In 2005 she was accepted in the Pre-College division at the „Musikhochschule Freiburg“ and studied under with Prof. Honda-Rosenberg and in 2009 she followed Prof. Honda-Rosenberg to the „Universität der Künste” to continue her Pre-College studies at the Julius-Stern-Institute in Berlin. 2014 she started her Bachelor in Berlin with Prof. Mo Yi. Since 2020 she is a student at  Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and finished her first Master with Rudolf Koelman and is currently studying with Anna Gebert . As part of the „Concertmaster Artist Diploma“ she is studying with Noah Bendix-Balgley, Volkhard Steude, Roman Simovic and other concertmasters in „Stauffer Center of Strings“ in Cremona. 

Miyuko won several prizes in as a soloist and chamber musician.2015 was the year she won the first prize in the RAMA string competition and the following year she won third prize in the International Music Competition Stockholm. 2021 she won with her Piano Quintet the first prize at the Kiwanis chamber music competition. 

Miyuko also worked together with Ingolf Turban, Eszter Haffner and Stephan Picard in masterclasses that took place in Sweden, Denmark and Liechtenstein. 

Over the years Miyuko took over the role as concertmaster in the Davos Festival Orchestra and in the Swiss National Youth Orchestra. Currently she is doing an internship at the „Tonhalle Orchester Zürich“ and finished her internship at the „Musikkollegium Winterthur“.

Next to her chamber music and orchestra projects she also studies the barock violin with Monika Baer and takes part in contemporary music projects as the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra.
